very movingSo so so touching. A must see with a box of tissues! It offers a real aspect of the holocaust and childhood friendship.

Boy in Striped PyjamasI live in sheltered housing and on Wednesday night we have a film last week we seen the boy in striped pyjamas all the residents are all over 60 and said it was one of the best films they have ever seen
Glossing over the horrorImagine for a moment a film about the working-classes living through the blitz in London's East End.
The film is in German, made by middle-class Germans in the 21st century.
How accurate do you think it would be, me old Cockney sparra?
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a twee, English, and a wildly inaccurate portrayal of life inside and outside the unspeakable concentration campa.
I note that (hardly surprisingly) the DVD is not available to purchase in Germany.
I give the film three whole stars simply because its heart is in the right place.
The Boy in the Striped PyjamasThis is an excellent, if not somewhat harrowing film. It follows the son of a Nazi prison camp manager, and his friendship with one of the camp inmates. It's a good way of introducing children to the realities of the second world war.
It's very well done for such a sensitive subject.
