WARNING NOT FOR CHILDREN!!!i understand what pixar and disney were trying to do - promote global issues in a way kids can understand however the ideas are very adult and i wouldnt recommend for kids.
BUT...........
this is a master piece for adults. it has humour, the love story, the real life threats and the general likability factor!! this is a special movie and the first of its kind!! a must see for adult disney fans as we can understand the impacts and the messages that are to advanced for a childrens film. in addition youll end up loving wall-e and wanting to take him home :)
Pixar's best yet.I lost faith in humanity when i saw that this film has the same rating as Kung Fu Panda, which i enjoyed, but left no lasting impressions whatso-ever.
Everyone else has already gushed over the film so this is just my attempt to bump the average score up. No other film can make a character watching TV so emotional.
I would however agree that this isnt really for young kids, but thats not a reason to give it a low score.
Brilliant! What a great film this is. Brilliant story, simply genius. keeps you ooing and ahing from the start. I don't want to say to much in case I spoil it for others. Simply watch this movie.
A funny, and thought provoking animationI had to drag my girlfriend and my mates to go see this - i was only going to see it purely because the character in the adverts seemed hilarious. I was thoroughly entertained, yet also amazed at the depth of what is basically a cartoon for kids. On a superficial level, brilliant graphics and rendering with simply superb textures and lighting that make the visuals close to life-like, and in addition to this excellent simulated camera focus effects with appropriate blurring and out of focus effects depending on the scene that would usually only be seen in traditionally shot camera movies. May not be immediately noticed, but if you pay attention to it you may find it enriching the whole cinematic experience. And of course for the kids, characters that are somehow endearing and easy to empathise and connect with given the lack of dialogue - testament to superb animation and the detailed thought processes in making up the characters and their traits and how to convey them without relying on speech.
However the real intelligence in this movie, and what makes this so appealing to adults, and subtly educational to kids, is the references to the numerous current issues that dominate today. Climate change, globalisation, capitalism amongst others. It maybe easy to criticize disney for being hypocritical in attempting to educate about such issues, but i can only applaud them in not just making an animation which is almost certainly going to make them a lot of money, but also at least attempts to educate and make kids (and adults) think of some of the issues that affect us today and will continue to do so in the future. Lets hope intelligent film making continues in the animated genre. Confused? just go watch it for yourselves. Brilliant movie - even my girlfriend cant wait for the dvd :)
Best Animation Ever!I think that Wall-E is the best animation I have seen ever!
The first 1/2 hour was very compelling. The interaction with Eva was awsome and then interaction with the humans was just very funny.
I think this is a film for all, I took my wife and we both loved it!
