Still the best exercise DVD for me!I love this exercise DVD. I have owned several over the years, but this is the one I still return to time after time, and I still enjoy doing it. It is the perfect length (about an hour) if you do it all the way through, and you really feel that you have given all your body a good overall workout. I personally find the legs bit the hardest (so many squats!) but you really feel it working.
Davina can be annoying in places, but that is just a minor complaint. The trainers are great (really encouraging) and you will not regret buying this DVD - it is a essential for anyone who enjoys going workouts at home.
tough workoutThis is a really tough workout especially for the bum and legs! I love the fact that it broken down into sections so you can pick and choose the area on your body you want to work out. It's definately the toughest of all davina's workouts.
This sucks!I found this dvd to be very boring... so much so that i gave up trying to keep fit for a year!! If you really want to work out with a bit of fun try the ministry of sounds pump it up dvds.. Great fun!!
Dare I offend the Nation?I know people have given this dvd rave reviews but with risk of being hunted down and shot, I'm daring to be different.
I'm unfit, unhealthy and a couple of stone overweight. If anyone needs a workout dvd, then it's me. So, as Davina seems to be a national institution these days I thought I'd try this one.
I don't regret it, truly I don't, but I don't enjoy it either. It works, don't get me wrong, I did it 3 days ago and I'm still in agony every time I hobble to my feet, but the problem is, it's just no fun.
It's intense, it's hard work and it's tough going but it's not engaging. Ok, so I know you'll all argue that it's supposed to be tough but surely it can be tough and fun at the same time?
Truth is, I've found other celebrity endorsed dvd's that are fun AND get you breaking a sweat. Admitendly, they're not as intense as Davina, and for that reason I will spare her the shame of being sold on or appearing in a bargain bucket anytime soon, but she may well gather dust!
It's an intense workout that i'll force myself to do at weekends but during the week when I hobble home from work it'll be one of the others (can I name names??? Charlie Brooks *ahem*) that I look forward to sticking on and panting away too.
I just think, quite simply, with such a comedic personality fronting the dvd, it could have been more fun. Is that really too much to ask?
Surprisingly good workoutI was pleasantly surprised by this DVD: if you do the whole hour you will get a good workout for your whole body. (Still feeling it in my thighs/bum 2 days later, and I'm reasonably fit!) I bought the box set with "3 30 Minute Workouts" (see separate review) but found this DVD better.
I usually find a little goes a long way where Davina's concerned, but she is actually ok in this, just gets on with the exercises without too much of her usual posing and shouting. There are no surprises here - the exercises are mainly the tried-and-tested moves you would do in any body sculpt-type class. But the workout is nicely broken up so you don't get bored, and the instructors are clear and offer plenty of encouragement and different options. I like the idea of the interval training to keep your body warm and heart rate up (something I often find lacking in DVDs) - although living in a flat I did have to make up some lower-impact, less floor-shaking moves.
The music isn't bad either - it may not have everyone's favourite tunes but at least it uses recognizable dance/pop tracks instead of the tinny muzak on all my other workout DVDs.
